Community Health Needs Assessments

At McLeod Health, we have historically assessed the health needs of the areas we serve as part of our mission to improve the health of the communities. Under the Affordable Care Act of 2010, the assessment effort is enhanced for non-profit hospitals with a well-defined process for updating health needs assessments every 3 years.

The results of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) enable McLeod Health and our hospitals in Florence, Dillon, Cheraw, Manning, Loris and Little River to set priorities, develop interventions and direct resources to improve the health of people living in our 18 county service area.

To develop the CHNAs, McLeod Health analyzed data about the area, demographics, socio-economic factors and major health problems, among other information.
